ABOUT ME
Hi welcome to Dixylan
British Shorthairs. My name is Jeanette and I have been breeding British
Shorthairs for the Past 16 Years, 7 years ago I purchased my first
British Shorthair Colourpoint and fell in love immediately, I now breed
British Blue, Lilac's-Chocolate's and occasionally I have Reds, Blacks
and Tortie's in solid colours.

I also breed British Colourpointed in
Lilac,Lilac-Cream,Blue, Choc & Choc Tortie's. This year 2005 I have
introduced the Tabby Colourpointed I have a Lilac Tabby Boy and a Lilac
Tabby Girl, and hope to produce some kittens next year. I have held a
registered Prefix with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy for the
past 8 years
Welcome to the home of Dixylan British shorthairs, the name Dixylan came
from a street I once lived in, whilst trying to register a prefix with
the GCCF, without much luck I glanced out of my window and saw the name
of my street Dixie Lane, this was my last attempt after 16 failures,
Dixylan has been made from this street name. Dixie is an old
english name for a large iron cooking pot which explains how a British
should be large and round.! I found my present house
after 6 years of looking for a village property that could satisfy my
hobby of breeding and showing my cats.
I now share my home with my husband andy who
also loves and adores the cats as much as I do, we have almost finished
installing our new cattery for the girls, with his
help I intend to improve my Colourpointed lines, and my new colours of
Chocolate and Lilac solids.
My girls take it in turn to come into the house
for a week at a time! but they much prefer to be outside watching all
the birds that we have in our garden. I hope you enjoy your visit to Dixylan British Shorthairs Web Site and you find it of interest, I try to update my nursery page as
often as time permits.

This is our dog Zena
the princess Warrior who is now 7 years old, as you can see she is loved
by all the cats, we nearly lost her this year as she is always stealing
the cats toys, she had eaten a toy mouse which had lodged in her small
intestine, 7 days in hospital she is now well again, however she still
steals the cats toys !!
